It's That Time of the Year!

Fall is upon us and once again it is time to pack up s/v Cheshire for the season. Cheshire is a 14 foot, 2008 gaff-rigged Picnic Cat, new to me this summer. Downsizing from my O'Day Mariner, Cheshire was much easier to rig and both launch and retrieve at just 1/3 the weight and a mast that uses a hinge system. At 71, I can raise the mast easily myself.

As has always been the care for, the best part of summer sailing is the company of friends and family and the enjoyment that a meal and a shared bottle of wine can bring. To my wife Donna, my son Matt, my granddaughter Charlotte, my sons Richard and James, and friends, Harold, John, Bill, Maria, Tony, I hope you enjoyed the ride(s)

While this is the time of the year that I get depressed as the days shorten, soon it will be December 22nd, and each day further gets just a little bit longer.
